New rules, new opportunities.
The upcoming changes to the FRCP will not only place more requirements on your clients, they’ll provide an opportunity for you. An opportunity to gain more work and an opportunity to demonstrate state-of-the-art collection capabilities thanks to a new network discovery technology called Deepdive.

Automatic Network Discovery.
Deepdive is a portable discovery appliance that does something no other device can do. Using patent pending auto-discovery technology, it automatically detects and accesses all data repositories across any Windows-compatible network—even the laptops, portable drives and file servers that reside outside conventional data repositories.

Because Deepdive can recognize more devices on the network, it can quickly spot more potential storage locations for relevant documents and identify these locations for search and collection. With Deepdive, you’ll find more electronic information faster than ever.

Portable, simple, easy.
Housed in a mini-tower and weighing just 24 pounds, the Deepdive portable discovery appliance can be carried into any location and quickly attached anywhere on a corporate network. There's no software to install on your client’s system, and very little impact on their network operations, and even less on their workflow.

Deepdive is designed to be operated as independently as possible—when network access is obtained, there’s no need for IT personnel involvement. And a single user or a small team with little or no IT support can quickly use Deepdive to conduct network discovery searches. Once properly configured, the Deepdive appliance will map an entire network within a few minutes and produce a report showing all discovered workstations and servers. Indexing consumes little bandwidth, but can be scheduled for off hours for added network convenience.

Find relevant data faster and easier than ever.
Once Deepdive has completed the discovery process, it lists all workstations and servers it has identified. After discovery, you select the machines and file shares you want to investigate. At this point, you can choose to image drives or directories of interest and do data reduction offline at your office. Alternatively, you can reduce the size of your collection effort by identifying relevant documents before collection. Deepdive can then generate an index of the appropriate files while on the network and without writing anything to the client’s machines. Indexing can be dynamic or limited to specific file types. And you can index across the entire network or just selected file shares.

Once the index is complete, Deepdive can search terabytes of data within seconds. Deepdive incorporates a licensed version of the DTsearch engine with some four dozen popular search types. It can look for "hot documents" or "smoking guns" in any popular electronic format, including Word, PDF, HTML, XML and even attachments embedded within Outlook mail archives.

Flexible, versatile, invisible.
Deepdive can be used in both Windows-compatible domains and workgroups, and the network discovery process will cross network segments if security policies and router configurations permit. The appliance does not join the domain itself and remains invisible to network browsing by Windows users on the network. And, as you’d expect, Deepdive appliances support all major languages.

Less effort, more results.
Thanks to Deepdive discovery technology, your clients can benefit by having the most complete collection of relevant electronic data. And of course, you’ll benefit because you’ll be able to provide an enhanced collection service with far less effort. For once, less work equals more satisfied customers.
